Dear hiring manager,
I am an experienced public service professional with over 18 years of operational leadership, programme delivery, and stakeholder management across the Home Office, Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), and Charity sector. My career has centred on delivering high impact government programmes, strengthening governance structures, and ensuring financial and administrative integrity in complex, high pressure environments. I am currently completing a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Law at Birmingham City University, building on my BA in Media & Public Relations and a Certificate in Economic Development from the University of Oxford.
In my current role as a Project Officer in the Home Office’s Migration and Borders Group, I provide critical governance and programme support to the Future Borders and Immigration System (FBIS). I manage end to end governance board operations, maintain RAID and decision logs, oversee SharePoint and Teams environments, and ensure compliance with departmental standards. My role requires daily engagement with senior stakeholders, policy teams, commercial suppliers, and operational partners, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and the smooth delivery of programme milestones.
Previously, as a Resettlement Caseworker at Refugee Action, I led the delivery of major UK refugee resettlement schemes, including the Syrian, Afghan, and Homes for Ukraine programmes. I conducted operational planning, budget forecasting, safeguarding assessments, and digital case management, producing high quality reports for government and local authority partners. I coordinated logistics, training, and multi agency engagement, consistently delivering at pace while maintaining accuracy, empathy, and strong safeguarding practice.
Earlier in my career, I served with the FCDO at the British Embassy in Kabul, where I managed multi million pound development projects in a conflict environment. I oversaw financial reporting, procurement, business case development, and contract management, ensuring value for money and compliance with UK government financial regulations. I represented the UK in ministerial and multi donor forums, drafted high level briefs, and supported political and diplomatic engagement with Afghan ministries and international partners.
I am PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM, and Microsoft Project Online qualified, with extensive experience in project governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and cross government collaboration. I bring a strong understanding of Civil Service values, including integrity, impartiality, and accountability, and a proven ability to lead teams, manage complex workloads, and deliver high quality outcomes under pressure.
I am now seeking opportunities where I can contribute my expertise in programme delivery, governance, international affairs, and public service leadership to support organisational objectives and deliver meaningful impact.
