I am a paediatric surgeon with over 14 years of clinical experience across tertiary referral centres in Pakistan and the United Kingdom. I am currently serving as an International Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Liver Surgery at Birmingham Children's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where I work within highly specialised hepatobiliary, liver transplant, paediatric surgical oncology, trauma, and emergency surgical services.

My clinical practice spans the breadth of general paediatric surgery, neonatal surgery, paediatric trauma and emergency surgery, paediatric surgical oncology, hepatobiliary surgery, and liver transplantation, managing complex patients in fast-paced multidisciplinary environments where clinical accuracy, patient safety, and evidence-based decision-making are paramount.

Throughout my career, I have worked closely with multidisciplinary teams comprising surgeons, intensivists, paediatricians, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, pharmacists, specialist nurses, and allied healthcare professionals. My responsibilities include reviewing complex clinical information, interpreting investigations and pathology, evaluating treatment plans, participating in multidisciplinary tumour boards and governance meetings, and producing accurate, high-quality clinical documentation. These experiences have equipped me with strong analytical skills and the ability to critically evaluate medical information with consistency and precision.

Alongside my clinical practice, I have developed a strong interest in clinical AI, medical education, healthcare quality improvement, patient safety, clinical governance, and bioethics. I hold formal certifications in Health Professions Education (CHPE) and Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety (CHQP), in addition to MRCS (Edinburgh), MRCPS (Glasgow), FCPS (Paediatric Surgery), ATLS, APLS, and PILS. These qualifications reflect my commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice, education, and quality assurance.

Academically, I have authored peer-reviewed publications, presented at international conferences, conducted clinical research, critically appraised medical literature, and contributed to teaching undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. I have experience leading teaching programmes, supervising junior doctors, participating in morbidity and mortality meetings, root cause analyses, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives. These experiences have strengthened my ability to assess medical evidence, evaluate guideline adherence, identify clinical inconsistencies, and communicate complex healthcare information clearly and accurately.

I am particularly interested in supporting the responsible development of healthcare AI by providing expert clinical oversight, reviewing AI-generated outputs for medical accuracy and safety, validating evidence against current clinical practice, identifying potential risks or biases, and contributing to the development of reliable, clinician-centred digital health solutions. I believe my background in complex surgical decision-making, governance, education, quality improvement, and ethical clinical practice would allow me to make a meaningful contribution to Clinical AI initiatives.
