distress. I apply the IASC MHPSS framework with flexibility and
humanity—not just by the book, but in real life with real people.

Counselor
Center for victims torture, Addis Ababa
Individual counseling: offers a safe, confidential space for
people dealing with acute stress, loss, trauma, etc.
Group counseling: structured healing activities for
trauma-affected clients.
Psychological first aid (PFA): delivers immediate practical
assistance and support to the disaster-affected
population.
Psycho education: Led public workshops to teach coping
skills, normalize stress reactions, and promote self-care.
Capacity building: Trained community volunteers,
teachers, and frontline health workers.
Stigma reduction: Worked with local leaders to
encourage community acceptance of mental health
care.
