ESTHER SAMMY

Esther K. Sammy is an award winning filmmaker, storyteller, and communications professional whose work fuses creativity, advocacy, and purpose. With over a decade of experience, she has mastered the art of using film to inspire transformation, challenge norms, and amplify unheard voices.

Her acclaimed documentary series “Hooked” (2014–2015) sparked a national conversation on addiction in Uganda, contributing to the expansion of the Alcohol & Drugs Unit at Butabika National Referral Hospital. This milestone reflects her strength in turning visual storytelling into real world impact.

Esther’s growing body of work includes collaborations with organisations such as Wizarts Foundation, Baylor Uganda, ARTOLUTION, Free Mind HIVE, Windle International Uganda, ANARDE, Restless Development and The Contentment Foundation, producing emotionally resonant films that promote education, mental health, and social change. Her recent partnership with SUMAYA on a mental health film series for YouTube showcases her sensitivity to complex issues and her ability to drive healing through the screen.

Through ACTS, she has developed the ANCHOR Year Planner (based on Hebrews 6:19), a practical tool helping Christians grow in discipline and purpose.

She has also consulted for organisations like SINA (Social Innovation Academy), contributing to personal development guides and training facilitation across Africa. Whether in the editing room or a training room, Esther’s mission remains the same: To unlock human potential, spirit, soul, and body through truth and transformation.
