Background
Developer, Oracle & Delphi — Payment Systems
One of two developers on an authorised payment centre platform processing around 150,000 transactions per day on Oracle. Wrote large, complex Oracle queries and moved from SQL Server to productive Oracle work within one month. Designed a periodic archiving strategy to protect long-term performance; the external Oracle consultant reviewing the system noted it performed unusually well for its volume. Delivered Progress 4GL integrations, including data transfer from Progress to external ERP systems.
Founder & Sole Developer
Designed, built and maintained a complete law-firm automation platform single-handedly, from architecture to production support. In daily use by large law firms for over a decade. Incoming documents are scanned, stored against the case and routed to the responsible attorney, who splits the case into sub-tasks with assignees and legal deadlines. Completed sub-tasks flow back through configurable approval chains until the case is closed. Migrated the full codebase from Delphi 2005 to Delphi XE2, including the ANSI-to-Unicode conversion and porting of heavily customised third-party components (InfoPower, ReportBuilder).
Lead Developer — Technical Service Management
Took full ownership of the technical service management system of a major distribution company, covering the complete service lifecycle.
Core Developer — Manufacturing ERP
Principal developer of a large ERP used by major industrial manufacturers, personally writing an estimated 60-70% of the product. Designed the multi-level BOM explosion engine: it recursively walks the bill of materials, nets off existing stock at every level and returns the full net requirement in a single set-based pass, using a recursive temp-table queue in T-SQL. Built modules on an inheritance-based form framework, customised InfoPower components so lookups ran as SQL queries, extended ReportBuilder to store report layouts in the database, and wrote custom Delphi components.
