IT Support Engineer (Freelance – Onsite, Tokyo)
Type: Contract | Department: IT Support
We are seeking an experienced onsite IT Support Engineer in Tokyo to provide hands-on technical support, BIOS-level configuration, laptop setup, and daily IT operations for our Japan team. The role requires strong troubleshooting skills and effective communication with local and global teams.
Key Responsibilities
Device Setup & BIOS Configuration
Configure BIOS/security settings across major laptop brands.
Install OS, drivers, updates; perform diagnostics.
Set up new laptops/desktops end-to-end.
Security & Compliance
Manage firewall/antivirus settings and user access controls.
Ensure compliance with internal security policies and audits.
Onboarding/Offboarding
Handle device setup, account creation, and access provisioning.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s in IT/CS or equivalent experience.
2–5 years in IT support/helpdesk.
Strong BIOS configuration and Windows expertise; basic MacOS.
Knowledge of AD, O365, Google Workspace, networking (IP/DNS/DHCP/VPN).
Basic–business Japanese + good English communication.
Preferred
Certifications: CompTIA A+/Network+, CCNA, Microsoft.
Experience in multinational environments.
Familiarity with remote support and IT automation tools.
