As a Public Health Officer within Rwanda's Ministry of Health, I contribute to the development and implementation of the health sector strategic programs that address national priorities. My work involves designing and evaluating public health interventions, leading operational studies to inform policy decisions, and translating data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
I collaborate across departments and sectors to ensure that health programs and interventions are evidence-based, inclusive, and aligned with national development goals. With a strong foundation in public health, I bring analytical rigor and strategic foresight to every stage of program planning and policy formulation.
My graduate training in Epidemiology deepens and expands the public health lens I developed during my undergraduate studies in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. This interdisciplinary progression equips me to investigate the complex relationship between diet, disease, and population health using rigorous scientific methods.

Through this program, I am gaining advanced skills in:
- Study design and Data Analysis: Designing and analyzing epidemiological studies to assess nutritional risk factors and health outcomes.
- Nutritional Epidemiology: Exploring how dietary patterns influence chronic disease prevalence in populations.
- Population health surveillance: Monitoring and interpreting nutrition-related health trends to inform policy and intervention strategies
- Evidence-Based Practice: Translating research findings into actionable recommendations for community nutrition programs and clinical guidelines
This rigorous science-based program provided me with comprehensive training in human nutrition, dietetics, and public health. It combined theoretical knowledge with practical experience, preparing me for evidence-based nutrition counseling, clinical dietetics, and community health promotion.
Key competencies developed include:
- Nutritional Biochemistry and Physiology: Understanding how nutrients interact with the human body across life stages and health conditions
- Diet Planning and Assessment: Designing individualized and population-level meal plans based on dietary guidelines and cultural preferences.
- Nutrition Research and Data Analysis: Conducting dietary surveys, interpreting nutritional data, and applying findings to improve health outcomes.
-Clinical Nutrition and Medical Nutrition Therapy: Supporting patients with nutrition-related conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and malnutrition through tailored interventions.
- Public Health and Community Nutrition: Promoting nutrition education, food security, and behavior change in diverse communities.
- Professional Communication and Ethics; Delivering clear, compassionate, culturally sensitive nutritional support.
