Design, build, and maintain production backend systems and relational database architectures — owning the full lifecycle from schema design through deployment and performance monitoring.
- Design and optimize relational database schemas in PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQLite — applying normalization, indexing, partitioning, and query tuning to support production workloads.
- Develop and maintain high-performance REST APIs using FastAPI and Flask, covering data modeling, endpoint logic, authentication, and deployment.
- Implement RBAC, JWT-based authentication, and encryption-at-rest — baking security into system architecture rather than treating it as an afterthought.
- Diagnose and resolve database performance bottlenecks — slow queries, lock contention, missing indexes — to ensure system reliability and low-latency responses.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams on schema design reviews and feature planning, translating business requirements into scalable, maintainable data models.
- Manage production database health — monitoring, backup/recovery strategies, and proactive performance tuning — to maintain uptime and data integrity.
