Service overview
$800 - $3,000 AUD | Priced by scope, not a flat rate see below
What's included:
- A short discovery call to understand who's actually going to read
this (a new customer? a staff member? both?) and what they need to
be able to do after reading it
- Content structured around real tasks "how to do X," not just a
list of features
- Plain-language writing, jargon only where it genuinely helps the
reader, not to sound impressive
- Screenshots or simple diagrams where they'd help more than text
- One consolidated document, or a short knowledge-base-style set of
articles whichever fits how your customers actually look things
up
- Two rounds of revisions
What's NOT included at this tier:
- Ongoing updates as your product/process changes (quoted separately)
- Video walkthroughs or recorded tutorials
- Translation into other languages
WORKFLOW & PROCESS DOCUMENTATION (SOPs)
$600 - $2,000 AUD | For internal team use, not customer-facing
What's included:
- Interviewing whoever currently does the task, to capture how it's
actually done not just how it's meant to be done on paper
- A clear, step-by-step written procedure someone new could follow
without needing to ask questions
- Identifying gaps or inefficiencies in the process while documenting
it, the same instinct that saved 135 minutes per client at my day
job
- Formatted for wherever your team actually keeps documentation
(a shared doc, a wiki, a printed folder whatever you use)
HOW PRICING SCALES
- Length and complexity of what's being documented
- How many distinct user types need separate instructions (e.g. an
admin guide vs. a regular-user guide are two different documents)
- Whether it's a from-scratch write, or a cleanup/restructure of
something that already exists but isn't working
- Ongoing vs. one-off a single guide is priced per-project; regular
updates as things change are better suited to a small monthly
retainer
